bungling man

i am just now back from several weeks in the desert, where i got to experience for the fifth time, the burning man.

what a splendid and magical experience!  what i have begun to realize–and what burning man facilitated this year in magnificent order–is that anything–ANYTHING–is possible.  i am learning that as a human i have picked up all of these socially developed and unnecessary behaviors, convictions, etc.  the main piece of baggage being fear.  losing this, in the face of challenge, one can say, “oh, this is going to be exciting!”  even if it’s fighting a tiger.  whatever it may be, without fear, in the present moment, life becomes pregnant with possibility and opportunity: a true and vibrant wealth of learning experiences.  i listened to a fabulous sermon out there, delivered by the reverend billy (http://www.revbilly.com) about forgiveness… sort of a re-development of spiritual values, paletable for the counter cultural burner type yet spiritually intact, full of integrity, a true re-valuation (Nietzsche would be proud i think)… if you can forgive, you can free yourself of this temporal baggage, lose those stipulations of worry and fear, judgment and measure and ACT creatively on your own, next to your own fellow human.  follow these simple rules: no firearms, prohibition of hurting another human, no male may wear a t-shirt with nothing below (shirt cocking), and experience the virtual infinitude of creativity.  partially joking.  yet, if you postulate these simple beginnings, so much is possible.  so, i’m learning that it is time to fill myself with love, pour it into myself: go on a long walk into the sunset with yourself, stretch, do some yoga, make a wonderful meal and cherish every bite, write in your journal, etc… pour it into yourself and then wait until it starts to overflow, you have given yourself so much love that you are beginning to burst–EXPLODE!–now your true work begins, the pure service to another commences.

excuse the somewhat disconnected thoughts here… i am simply waiting to burst here.  so stay tuned.
